Welcome to the St. Francis Cardiovascular Symposium
|
St. Francis Heart Center is pleased to present its third annual symposium for health care professionals. Please join us as our outstanding team shares vital updates about managing cardiovascular disease and insight into current and future innovations in patient care therapies.
Symposium topics this year will span from the revolutionary diagnostics of cardiac computed tomography to effective outpatient heart failure management. Our cardiac surgeons will bring us into the hearts of patients undergoing novel techniques to rebuild heart tissue. Leading experts will provide practical guidelines for addressing atrial fibrillation and diet modification for cardiovascular risk. Peripheral vascular interventions, including minimally invasive options for abdominal aortic aneurysm, also will be addressed.
Our presenters this year include surgeons from Cardiac Surgery Associates and cardiologists and vascular surgeons from the St. Francis Medical Group. Our keynote speaker is acclaimed psychologist and author Robert J. Wicks, PsyD. Dr. Wicks enriches the lives of healthcare providers around the world, as he teaches us to deal effectively with the unique stresses we experience. He is an expert in preventing what he calls “secondary stress” in health care professionals and others who must give of themselves every day to others in need. His goal is to help physicians, nurses, social workers, relief workers and others in full-time “giving” professions to “extend their presence to others without losing their own inner fire in the process.”
We look forward to you joining our team during this informative and revitalizing program!
